DTC Check / Clear

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. When using a Techstream;
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.
      3. Read the DTCs by following the prompts on the Techstream.

        HINT: 

        Refer to the Techstream operator's manual for further details.

    2. When not using a Techstream;

      1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
        • SST: 09843-18040 
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      3. Read and write down any DTCs indicated by the PS warning light on the combination meter. Refer to the PS Warning Light Blinking Pattern chart for examples of a normal code and DTCs 21 and 22. See Fig 2.

        HINT: 

        • If the PS warning light does not blink to display any DTCs set or the normal code, inspect the circuit shown in the table below.

        • If two or more malfunctions are detected simultaneously, DTCs will be displayed in ascending numerical order.
      4. Refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  for DTC information.
  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. When using a Techstream;
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Start the and turn the tester on.
      3. Clear the DTCs by following the prompts on the Techstream.
      4. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
      5. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
    2. When not using a Techstream;

      1. Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
        • SST: 09843-18040 
      2. Start the engine and wait for 3 seconds or more.
      3. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
      4. Disconnect and reconnect terminal 13 (TC) of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.
      5. Check that the PS warning light blinks a code to indicate normality.
      6. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
      7. Remove the SST from the DLC3.
