Component Description For Weight Sensing System (WSS) Control Unit - GF91.60-P-4046KJU
MODEL 453.3/4
with CODE 494 (US version)
Location
The WSS control unit is located on the underside of the on the front passenger seat occupancy recognition seat mat (1).
Task
The WSS control unit determines the weight applied to the front passenger seat and the weight class. The WSS control unit tasks are structured as follows:
- Read in sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Transmitting signals
Read in sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
Direct line
The following signals and sensors are read via direct lines:
- Internal pressure sensor in the WSS control unit
Evaluation of input factors
The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and sent for further processing over the seat occupancy LIN (LIN E2) to the supplemental restraint system control unit (N10/2).
Transmitting signals
The following signals are sent over the seat occupancy LIN to the supplemental restraint system control unit:
- Seat occupied recognition status
- Weight class
Structure
The front passenger seat occupancy recognition seat mat (1) and the WSS control unit form a unit, whereby the WSS control unit is located at the end of the front passenger seat occupancy recognition seat mat (1).
function
The applied weight is determined by measuring the pressure in the front passenger seat occupancy recognition seat mat (1) filled with silicone. The pressure measurement is performed by the seat occupied recognition pressure sensor integrated into the WSS control unit.
