Climate control, general 

Two different versions of the climate control are installed in models 453.091/391/491 (E-Drive):

• Heating system without air conditioning (with code I78 (Heating system), only in vehicles with code ICPA (Standard equipment))
• Automatic air conditioning with 1-zone temperature control (with code I01 (Automatic air conditioning))

The heating and ventilation (with code I78 (Heating system)) and the air conditioning system (with code I01 (Automatic air conditioning)) are controlled in both variants by the climate control operating unit and the climate control unit.

Vehicles without code I01 (Automatic air conditioning) do not have automatic temperature control or an air conditioning system. The temperature and the air distribution are controlled manually in accordance with the occupants' requirements.

The automatic air conditioning with 1-zone temperature control (with code I01 (Automatic air conditioning)) has a joint temperature control for the left and right halves of the vehicle, and the interior temperature can be adjusted in °C (except code 494 (USA version)) or □ (with code 494 (USA version)) via the temperature control. The automatic air conditioning regulates the desired interior temperature automatically. The blower and the air distribution flaps can be operated manually or controlled automatically.
