Pressure Regulator
NOTE:
If fuel pressure does not meet specifications, 36-41 psi (2.55-2.85 kg/cm2
), check fuel pump and pressure regulator.
- Check for pinched, cracked, blocked or broken vacuum hoses. Start engine and allow to idle. Check for vacuum. If there is no vacuum, go to SOLENOID VALVE TEST II.
- Stop engine. Restart engine. Engine coolant must be above 221°F (105°C) and intake air temperature must be above 176°F (80°C). Check for vacuum. There should be no vacuum. If there is, go to SOLENOID VALVE TEST I. Stop engine. Attach a pressure gauge to service port of fuel filter. Restart engine and check that fuel pressure rises by disconnecting vacuum hose from regulator.
