SERVICE INFORMATION

The Subaru Hatchback and Brat Air Conditioning Kit, SOA203084, may contain an improperly machined compressor bracket (SOA203867).

The area involved is the machined rear surface of the main compressor mounting bracket leg (see Fig 1 ). Kits packaged on 8/01/86 through 11/30/86 and a package date of 1/30/87 are affected. The production date can be found on the end of the box next to the parts label.

If you have a bracket that is machined incorrectly, do not install it. Dealers are to submit a MSA438 claim for credit and obtain a correct bracket through normal parts channels.
