Terminal Connections (Harness Plug)
Use the following procedures to check signals to and from control unit. Check signals at harness plug of control unit. See Fig 1 .
- Check terminal No. 1 (Light Green/Black; Blue/Yellow on XT and XT6) for zero voltage when set in cruise control mode. Check terminal No. 2 (Yellow), for ignition signal, with engine on. Terminal No. 4 (Yellow/White; Yellow/Blue on XT and XT6) is used in production to check control unit. A square sign wave, zero volt/11 volt, signal is used for checking control unit. With ignition on, check terminal No. 5 (Brown; Brown/White on XT and XT6) for battery voltage.
- With ignition on, check terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Red) for zero volt/5+ volt signal when speedometer cable is rotated. Check clutch switch wire, terminal No. 8, for ground connection. See CLUTCH SWITCH in this article. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Control unit output signal to vent valve is through terminal No. 9 (White/Black). Terminal No. 10 (Black) is the permanent ground for the control unit. Terminal No. 12 (Blue/Red; Blue/Green on XT and XT6) should have zero voltage when vehicle speed is at least 3 MPH less than speed set in cruise control mode or when accelerating using Resume switch.
- Terminal No. 13 (Black/Yellow; Black/White on XT and XT6) is only present on automatic transaxle models. It is grounded when the shift selector is in "N" or "P" position.
- Terminal No. 14 (Blue/White) supplies battery voltage to valve assembly when system is on. With ignition on, check for battery voltage at Terminal No. 15 (Black/Red), when brake pedal is depressed voltage should be zero.
- Stop switch, terminal No. 17 (Green/Black) should have battery voltage only when brake pedal is depressed. If brake pedal is released, no voltage should be present.
- Terminal No. 18 (White/Red) with ignition off and "SET" button depressed, battery voltage should be present. With switch released, no voltage should be present.
- Terminal No. 19 (Yellow/Black) with ignition on and "RESUME" on, battery voltage should be present. With "RESUME" off, no voltage should be present. Control unit output signal to vacuum valve is through terminal No. 20 (Green).
