Engine Code Identification

To identify an engine by the manufacturer's code, follow the four steps designated by the numbered blocks.

V.I.N. PLATE LOCATION:

Left side of instrument panel, visible through windshield; also under hood on engine bulkhead.

(1) MODEL YEAR IDENTIFICATION:

10th character of V.I.N.

(2) ENGINE CODE LOCATION:

3-cyl.: On top of crankcase, flywheel end. 4-cyl. & 6-cyl.: On right side of crankcase, front of vehicle.
