Port Fuel Injection (PFI)

PFI system is a computerized fuel, ignition and emission control system designed to maintain fuel economy and reduce vehicle emissions. Fuel is metered to intake system through a separate injector for each cylinder, mounted in intake manifold, next to intake valve. An Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors data from various sensors and controls such functions as fuel injector pulse width (fuel injector "on" time), ignition timing and emission control devices.
