Abs Indicator Light Stays On

  1. Remove hydraulic unit valve relay. Hydraulic unit valve relay (5 terminal) is located on hydraulic unit. If ABS indicator light begins to flash, read trouble code and continue with diagnosis. If light is off, go to next step. If light remains on, disconnect ABS control unit harness connector. See Figure . If indicator light is still illuminated, check light circuit for short circuit to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article.
  2. Turn ignition off. With control unit harness connector disconnected, measure voltage between harness connector terminal 29 and ground. If voltage is less than battery voltage, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground.
  3. If voltage is less than battery voltage, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article. If battery voltage is present, check resistance between harness connector terminals No. 10, 20 and 34, and ground. See Figure . If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit(s) as needed. If continuity exists, replace ABS control unit.
