Operational Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1993 Subaru Legacy and 1993 Subaru Impreza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Connect battery voltage to terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 4 of wiper motor connector. SeeFig 1 . If wiper operates at low speed, go to next step. If wiper does not operate or operates at a high speed, replace wiper motor.
  2. Connect battery voltage to terminal No. 3 and ground terminal No. 4 of wiper motor connector. SeeFig 1 . If wiper operates at a faster speed than in step 1), go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate or operates at same speed as in step 1), replace wiper motor.
  3. Connect battery voltage to terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 4. After operating motor at low speed, disconnect battery voltage from terminal No. 2 to stop motor. Reconnect battery to terminal No. 5 and ground terminal No. 4. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 1 and 2. Motor should operate then automatically stop.
