Automatic Transmission

  1. If voltage does not exist in any of the following circuit tests, check wiring for opens or shorts, or replace faulty component.
  2. Turn ignition switch to START position. Check voltage at ignition switch "S" terminal (Black/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, check voltage at Black/Yellow wire terminal of transmission inhibitor switch. Inhibitor switch is located on gear select lever, under console.
  3. If battery voltage exists at Black/Yellow wire terminal of transmission inhibitor switch, check for voltage at inhibitor switch Black/White wire terminal when gear select lever is in Park or Neutral position.
  4. If voltage exists at inhibitor switch Black/White wire terminal, check voltage at Black/White wires of ECVT unit harness connector. ECVT unit is located behind left side of instrument panel, above EFC/PFI control unit.
  5. If battery voltage exists at both Black/White wires, check voltage at starter "S" terminal (Black/White wire). If voltage exists at starter solenoid, start circuit is good. Problem is with starter.
NOTE: Information for testing inhibitor switch or ECVT unit is not available from manufacturer.
