Crankshaft Position/Cylinder Position (CKP/CYP) Sensor

Sensor is located in distributor. Based on signals received from CKP/CYP sensor, ECM determines crankshaft angle and identifies cylinder No. 1. From these signals, ECM triggers ignition system and fuel injector(s). This device may also be referred to as a crank angle or TDC sensor.
