Function Test

  1. Turn engine off. Disconnect vacuum pump harness connector. Apply battery (+) power to terminal No. 2, and ground terminals No. 1, 3 and 4. SeeFig 1 . If throttle does not fully open within 3 seconds, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
  2. If throttle fully opens within 3 seconds, remove ground from terminal No. 3. Throttle should remain in position. If throttle does not remain in position, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
  3. If throttle remains in position, remove battery (+) power from terminal No. 2. If throttle does not fully close within 3 seconds, check actuator. See ACTUATOR TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If actuator is okay, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
