Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The throttle position sensor contains a potentiometer (variable resistor). The ECM uses this signal to adjust air/fuel ratio during acceleration, deceleration and idle. The sensor sends the ECM a potentiometer output signal corresponding to throttle valve opening.
