Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

On-board diagnostic function of cruise control system requires the use of Subaru Select Monitor (24082AA010) scan tool. On-board diagnostic function operates in 2 categories: cruise cancel condition diagnosis and real-time diagnosis.

Cruise cancel condition diagnosis category requires a test drive to determine cause of malfunction. Cruise control module memory stores the condition which occurred during test drive. When more than one cancel condition occurs during test drive, they are shown in numerical order on scan tool.

Real-time diagnosis is used to determine whether or not input signal system is in good order. Vehicle cannot be driven during this test. Dummy signals are entered to various components of cruise control system and scan tool.
