Outback 3.0L (2002)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Subaru Outback, 2003 Subaru Legacy, 2003 Subaru Baja, 2002 Subaru Outback, and 2002 Subaru Legacy. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Never use a high capacity tester (measuring use for high voltage) or any other similar measure for this test; otherwise, the diodes may be damaged.

MITSUBISHI - 3.0L

  1. Check for resistance of one ohm or less between diode lead and positive side heat sink. The positive diode is in good condition if resistance is one ohm or less, but only in the direction from the diode lead to the heat sink. See Figure.
  2. Check for resistance of one ohm or less between negative side heat sink and diode lead. The negative diode is in good condition if resistance is one ohm or less, but only in the direction from the heat sink to the diode lead. See Figure.
