WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Subaru Impreza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Close all windows. Remove key from ignition switch, then open door(s) and exit the vehicle.
  2. Make sure engine hood (and trunk lid) is locked. Close all doors (and rear gate on wagon).
  3. Briefly press LOCK/ARM button (for less than two seconds). All doors (and rear gate on wagon) will lock. Horn will sound once, parking lights will flash once, and indicator light will flash slowly (approximately once every two seconds).See Fig 1 .

If any door (or rear gate) is not fully closed, the horn sounds three times, the parking lights flash three times, and the indicator light flashes rapidly. When that entry is finally properly closed, the system will automatically arm and all doors will automatically lock.
