Deleting Old Transmitter Codes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Subaru Outback and 2002 Subaru Legacy. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- The keyless entry system's control unit has four memory locations to store transmitter codes, giving it the ability to operate with up to four transmitters. If a transmitter is lost, the lost transmitter's code remains in memory. For security reasons, delete this code from memory.
- To delete old transmitter codes, program all four transmitter codes into the system. If there's only one transmitter, program it four times. If there are 2 current transmitters, program each twice. If there are 3 current transmitters, program 2 of the transmitters once and the third one, twice. This process will leave only current transmitter codes in the system's memory.
