Section 78 (HVAC): Compressor: Removal

  1. Perform the compressor oil return operation. See OPERATION  , Compressor Oil.
  2. Turn A/C switch OFF and stop the engine.
  3. Using refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. See OPERATION  , Refrigerant Recovery Procedure.
  4. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery.
  5. Remove the V-belt. V-BELT (H4SO) or V-BELT (H4DOTC).
  6. Remove the generator, see REMOVAL , Generator
  7. Remove the low-pressure hose and high-pressure hose.

  8. Disconnect the compressor harness from body harness.
  9. Loosen the bolts to remove compressor bracket.

  10. Remove the bolts and then separate compressor and bracket.
