Body Control Module: Service and Repair

Body Integrated Unit

REMOVAL

NOTE:
1. When replacing the body integrated unit
- Prepare the security ID plate.
- Prepare the required number of new immobilizer keys (not registered).
- Check and record the current setting.

2. After replacing the body integrated unit
- Register the immobilizer. For detailed operation procedures, refer to "PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor".
- Set the current settings as recorded.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the driver's side instrument panel lower cover.
3. Remove the knee guard panel.
4. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.

CAUTION: Be careful to keep water and other foreign materials away from body integrated unit.

5. Remove two mounting bolts for body integrated unit bracket, and remove the body integrated unit.






INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque: 7.5 N.m (0.76 kgf.m, 5.5 ft.lb)

NOTE: Make sure that there are no differences from the contents of the current settings after installation.
