Steering Angle Sensor: Replacement

  1. Set the steering wheel in a straight-ahead position.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  3. Remove the airbag module. Ref. to REMOVAL , Driver's Airbag Module.
    CAUTION: Always refer to "Airbag System" before performing the service operation. Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.
  4. Remove the roll connector. Ref. to REMOVAL , Roll Connector.
  5. Disengage tabs, and remove the steering angle sensor from the roll connector.

  6. Remove the clip attached to the protrusion of new steering angle sensor.
    CAUTION: Do not rotate the steering angle sensor protrusion.

  7. Align the center of roll connector. Ref. to INSTALLATION , Roll Connector.
  8. Align the position of the protrusion and install roll connector to steering angle sensor.
  9. Install the roll connector. Ref. to INSTALLATION , Roll Connector.
  10. After installation, perform the neutral position setting of the steering angle sensor. Ref. to SET UP MODE FOR NEUTRAL OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR & LATERAL G SENSOR 0 POINT , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U).
