Outer Mirror Assembly: Inspection

  1. Disconnect the outer mirror connector.
  2. Apply battery voltage between the outer mirror connector terminals and check the mirror operation.

    • Model without electric retractable mirror
      Terminal No. Inspection conditions Switch position
      - - OFF
      2 (+) - 5 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. UP
      5 (+) - 2 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. DOWN
      4 (+) - 2 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. LEFT
      2 (+) - 4 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. RIGHT
    • Model with electric retractable mirror
      Terminal No. Inspection conditions Switch position
      - - OFF
      3 (+) - 8 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. UP
      8 (+) - 3 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. DOWN
      7 (+) - 3 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. LEFT
      3 (+) - 7 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. RIGHT
      2 (+) - 6 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. Folding
      6 (+) - 2 (-) Apply battery voltage between terminals. Unfolding
  3. If it does not operate normally, replace the outer mirror assembly.
NOTE: There always exists a current of 1.2 mA at the electric retraction terminal.
