Test drive

Perform test drive to check if the DTC recurs.

  1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Turn on the SSM3.
  4. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to clear the DTCs. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )
  5. Turn the ignition switch to OFF, and wait for 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  7. Turn on the SSM3.
  8. Check that the engine coolant temperature is 30°C {86°F} or less.
  9. Start the engine and perform driving test as follows.
    WARNING: When performing this driving test, always observe the applicable traffic laws such as the speed limit.
    1. Idle the engine for 10 seconds or more. (A)
    2. Drive at 80 km/h {50 MPH} or more for 8 minutes or more. (B)
    3. Stop the vehicle and run the engine on idling for 30 seconds or more. (C)
    4. Drive at 80 km/h {50 MPH} or more for 30 seconds or more. (D)
    5. Stop the vehicle and run the engine on idling for 30 seconds or more. (E)
    6. Drive at 80 km/h {50 MPH} or more for 30 seconds or more. (F)
    7. Stop the vehicle and run the engine on idling for 30 seconds or more. (G)
  10. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to check the DTC. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )
