Inspection steps

  1. Performance of the SSM3 [System Operation Check Mode]
    1. Using SSM3, perform the [System Operation Check Mode] by following the display. (Refer to DISPLAY OF CURRENT DATA / SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK MODE  )

      Criteria: [System Operation Check Mode] is performed properly.

      SSM3 screen: [Each System Check] →[Power Window] →[Work Support] →[System Operation Check Mode]

      B: Replacement of the power window regulator master switch assembly (driver's seat) (Refer to POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  )

      A: Go to next step

  2. Inspection of the wire harness and connector (power window regulator master switch assembly - battery and chassis ground)
    1. Disconnect the connector E8 of power window regulator master switch assembly.
    2. Measure the voltage between the terminals.

      Voltage

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      E8-12 (+B) - chassis ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Resistance

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      E8-5 (GND) - chassis ground Always Less than 1 Ω

      NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

      OK: Go to next step

  3. Inspection of the wire harness and connector (power window regulator master switch assembly - power window regulator motor assembly LH (driver's seat))
    1. Disconnect the connector E8 of power window regulator master switch assembly.
    2. Disconnect the connector E5 of the power window regulator motor assembly LH (driver's seat).
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Resistance (open circuit check)

      RESISTANCE (OPEN CIRCUIT CHECK)

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      E8-6 (WU) - E5-1 (WU) Always Less than 1 Ω
      E8-7 (WD) - E5-3 (WD) Always Less than 1 Ω

      Resistance (short circuit check)

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (SHORT CIRCUIT CHECK)

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      E8-6 (WU) - chassis ground Always 10 kΩ or more
      E8-7 (WD) - chassis ground Always 10 kΩ or more

      NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

      OK: Go to next step

  4. Replacement of the power window regulator master switch assembly
    1. Replace with the new or normal power window regulator master switch assembly, and verify normal operation. (Refer to REMOVAL )

      Result

      Item Go to
      Motor operates. A
      Motor does not operate. B

      B: Replacement of the power window regulator motor assembly RH (Refer to REMOVAL  )

      A: Complete (switch malfunction)
