Ignition Key Lock: Replacement

CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag module, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". < Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.>
- If the steering wheel and steering angle sensor (steering roll connector) are removed, perform "VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE " of the VDC. < Ref. to VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U).>
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. < Ref. to
BATTERY
, NOTE, Note.>NOTE: For the 12 volt engine restart battery of HEV model, disconnect the ground terminal from 12V engine restart battery sensor.
- Remove the column assembly - steering. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Steering Column.>
- Remove the ignition key lock.
- Secure the column assembly - steering in a vise.
- Use the reverse tap and drill to remove the set bolt and remove the ignition key lock.CAUTION: Do not apply any impact to the set bolt by a chisel or punch.
- Install the ignition key lock.
- Secure the ignition key lock to the column assembly - steering.
- Use new set bolts. Tighten the bolt until the bolt head is broken (bolt head wrenched off).
