INTRODUCTION
This bulletin announces a change to the operating software included in the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) Control Module and Hydraulic Unit (VDCCM&H/U) on the models listed above. This change is in response to a very small number of customer inquiries regarding the Hill Holder system's indicator lamp blinking once along with a single tone (chirp) being heard when starting the engine using the key, push-button or with use of a remote engine start.

SERVICE PROCEDURE/INFORMATION
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
Currently, if the Hill Holder feature is turned on (green indicator lamp illuminated) and a low battery voltage/drop condition is detected (e.g. when starting the engine or when the engine cranks during a Remote Engine Start), the Hill Holder indicator lamp will blink once and a warning tone (chirp) will sound once. Function of the Hill Holder is not affected by these events.
The new software changes how the Hill Holder indicator lamp and corresponding single flash/chirp operate. After installation of the new VDCCM&H/U, if a low battery voltage condition is detected when cranking and the battery voltage drops low enough, the indicator lamp will no longer flash once and the tone will no longer sound. The Hill Holder feature operation is otherwise unchanged.
The service procedures for replacing the VDCCM& H/U remain unchanged. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time and every time. This includes but is not limited to: important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
