Steering Angle Sensor: Removal
CAUTION:
- If the steering wheel and steering angle sensor are removed, perform "VSC(VDC) Centering Mode" of the VDC. <Ref. to VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDC Control Module & H/U).>
- Before handling the airbag system components, always refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". <Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.>
- Always use the steering wheel puller for removal to avoid deforming the steering wheel.
- If the steering wheel has been removed, make sure that the steering roll connector is not turned from the original position.
- Position the front wheels straight ahead.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. <Ref. to

, NOTE, Note.>NOTE: For model with battery sensor, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- Remove the driver's airbag module. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Driver's Airbag Module.>
- Remove the steering wheel. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Steering Wheel.>
- Remove the cover assembly - column.
- Release the clips, and remove the cover assembly - steering UPR.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the cap - key cylinder (a). (Model with keyless access with push button start)
- Release the claw, and remove the cover assembly - column UPR and the cover assembly - column LWR.
- Remove the steering roll connector.CAUTION: Make sure that the steering roll connector is not turned from the original position.
- Disconnect the connector under the steering roll connector.
- Release the claws and remove the steering roll connector.
- Remove the steering angle sensor.
- Release the claws and remove the steering angle sensor (b) from the steering roll connector (a).
