Select Lever: Removal

  1. Shift the select lever to "N" range.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Lower the boot assembly vertically toward the lever. (Model with boot shifter)

  4. Lower the cover grip AT vertically toward the lever. (Model with gate shifter)

  5. Remove the clamp grip pin.

  6. Remove the grip assembly.

  7. Remove the front console panel. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Console Box>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the panel center LWR LH and RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Console Box>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the harness clip from the select lever assembly.

  10. Separate the floor carpet to three layers, and cut them while staggering their cut position as shown in the figure.

  11. Disconnect the harness connector.

  12. Remove four bolts.

  13. Lift up the vehicle.
  14. Remove the center exhaust cover.

  15. Remove the snap pin and washer from the shifter arm.
    CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (A).

  16. Remove the plate assembly from the transmission case.

  17. Lower the vehicle, and remove the select lever assembly from the room side.
    NOTE: Pass the select cable from the underside of the vehicle to the room side.
