VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U): Removal
CAUTION:
- Avoid unnecessary removal of parts in order to prevent fluid leakage.
- When the hydraulic unit assembly VDC components are removed, be sure to perform the installation according to the installation procedures. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM&H/U)>INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY>GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
- Remove the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the hydraulic unit assembly VDC.CAUTION:
- Do not pull on the harness when disconnecting the connector.
- Wrap the brake pipe with a vinyl bag so as not to spill the brake fluid on the painted surface of the vehicle body.
- If brake fluid is spilled on the painted surface of the vehicle body, wash it off immediately with water and wipe clean.
- Remove dirt from around the hydraulic unit assembly VDC.
- Pull up the lock lever (b) while pressing the lock button (a) to disconnect the hydraulic unit assembly VDC connector.
- Separate each brake pipe using a flare nut wrench.
- Remove the bolts and nuts and remove the bracket COMPL hydraulic unit VDC, bracket hydraulic unit adapter and the hydraulic unit assembly VDC.
