Combination Meter System: Inspection: Switch

Illumination intensity does not change even when the illumination control switch is operated.

1. CHECK CURRENT DATA  .

   Display the data of [Bright switch input state] and [Illumination control switch input state] using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

   Do the display change as [OFF] ←→ [ON] and the value range from 0 to 100 when the bright switch and illumination control switch are operated?

   Yes  : Replace the combination meter assembly.

   No  : Go to  2.

2. CHECK ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH UNIT  .

   Check the illumination control switch. INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>Switches and Harness>INSPECTION>ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH  .

   Is the switch normal?

   Yes  : Go to  3.

   No  : Replace the illumination control switch.

3. CHECK HARNESS  .
   1. Disconnect the connectors of combination meter assembly and illumination control switch.
   2. Measure the resistance between the combination meter assembly and the illumination control switch.

      (i10) No. 32 - (i79) No. 1:

   Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

   Yes  : Replace the combination meter assembly.

   No  : Repair or replace the harness.
