Removal Of Service Disconnect Plug
CAUTION:
- Take the access key out of the vehicle to avoid erroneous operations of the hybrid system.
- Confirm that the Hybrid READY indicator light is not illuminated.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery (12 V). Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Take out the mat rear floor.
- Remove the cover service disconnect plug.
- Remove the service disconnect plug.WARNING:
- Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Carry the removed service disconnect plug in your pocket in order to prevent other servicemen from accidentally installing during work.
- After removal of the service disconnect plug, the condenser inside the inverter still have been charged to a high voltage. Therefore, wait for at least 10 minutes before handling the high voltage components, wiring, terminals or connectors.
- Slide the lever toward the left side of the vehicle.
- Raise the lever until it is vertical.
- Pull the lever upward and pull out the service disconnect plug from the holder section of the HV battery.CAUTION:
- After removing the service disconnect plug, protect the holder section with tape, etc. to prevent intrusion of foreign matter such as water or dusts.
- Always confirm that the voltage at any high voltage terminal is at 0 V using a circuit tester before beginning additional work.
- Do not turn the ignition switch ON with the service disconnect plug removed. The system may be damaged.
- Even after the service disconnect plug is removed, make sure to wear insulated gloves (PPE) during maintenance of all the parts inside the battery case, and underfloor high voltage power cable assemblies.
- Be careful not to allow foreign matter to enter the HV battery.
