Airbag Control Module: Removal
CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>General Description>CAUTION .
- Do not disassemble the airbag control module.
- If the airbag control module is deformed or if there is any trace of water on the module, replace the airbag control module with a new one.
- Do not drop the airbag control module.
- After removal, keep the airbag control module on a dry, clean surface away from moisture, heat and dust.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION
.NOTE: Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N" position. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the heater control assembly. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>CONTROL PANEL>REMOVAL .
- Remove the cover assembly front and the console box assembly. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CONSOLE BOX>REMOVAL .
- Remove the right and left cover center sides.
- Remove the screws.
- Release the claws and clips and pull the cover center side to remove.
- Remove the duct console center. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>AIR VENT DUCT>REMOVAL>CONSOLE DUCT>CENTER .
- Remove the duct console front and the tray center UPR as a unit. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CENTER CONSOLE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the airbag control module.
- Disconnect the connector from airbag control module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>Airbag Connector>PROCEDURE>AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE .
- Remove the bolt and nuts and remove the airbag control module.
