Customizing Function Does Not Operate

Trouble causes: 

• Outer mirror control module (driver's seat) malfunction
• CCM (cockpit control module) malfunction

1. CHECK BATTERY  .

   Check the battery unit. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO)>BATTERY . Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DOTC)>BATTERY .

   Is the battery OK?

   Yes  : Go to  2 .

   No  : Replace or charge the battery.

2. CHECK FUSE  .

   Check the fuse. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>RELAY AND FUSE .

   Is the fuse OK?

   Yes  : Go to  3 .

   No  : Replace the fuse. When the replaced fuse is blown immediately, repair the power supply circuit.

3. CHECK DTC  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for 20 seconds or more.
   2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTCs of [Door Mirror (Driver)] and [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
      • Door Mirror (Driver)
      • Cockpit Control

      Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

      Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      No  : Go to  4 .

4. CHECK CUSTOMIZATION-RELATED SIGNALS  .

   Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Door Mirror (Driver)]. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .

   • Customize Change Request Signal: Outside Mirror Auto Retractable
   • Customize Change Request Signal: Outside Mirror Tilt Down in Reverse
   • Auto Retractable Power Door Mirror Customize
   • Auto Retractable Power Outside Mirror Trigger Customize
   • Reverse Interlocking Outside Mirror Customize
   • Reverse Interlocking Outside Mirror Target Customize
   • Reverse Interlocking Outside Mirror Last Memory Customize

   Do the signals above change normally, and is the customizing function operable?

   Yes  : Go to  5 .

   No  : Replace the outer mirror assembly (driver's seat). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>OUTER MIRROR CONTROL MODULE .

5. CHECK PHENOMENON  .

   Perform the mirror customizing operation on the center information display, and check for normal operation of the display screen and the customizing function.

   Does the display screen fail to change, and does the customizing function fail to work properly?

   Yes  : Check the cockpit control. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

   No  : Go to  6 .

6. CHECK PHENOMENON  .

   Perform the mirror customizing operation on the center information display, and check for normal operation of the display screen and the customizing function.

   Does the display screen change properly? And does the customizing function fail to work properly?

   Yes  : Replace the outer mirror assembly (driver's seat). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>OUTER MIRROR CONTROL MODULE .

   No  : Go to  7 .

7. CHECK PHENOMENON  .

   Perform customizing operations other than the mirror on the center information display, and check for normal operation of the display screen and the customizing function.

   Does the display screen change properly?

   Yes  : Replace the outer mirror assembly (driver's seat). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>OUTER MIRROR CONTROL MODULE .

   No  : Check the cockpit control. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
