Basic Diagnostic Procedure: Procedure
- CHECK WARNING LIGHT.
Check whether the airbag warning light in the combination meter is lit.
Does the airbag warning light illuminate?
Yes: Go to 2.
No: Perform the diagnosis according to phenomenon of the problem.
- READ DTC.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the Subaru Select Monitor.
- Read the DTC. Refer to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>OPERATION .NOTE: If the communication function of the Subaru Select Monitor cannot be executed properly, check the communication circuit. Refer to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>SUBARU SELECT MONITOR>INSPECTION .
- Record all DTCs and freeze frame data.
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes: Go to 3.
No: Go to "Airbag Warning Light Failure" Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FAILURE .
- PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
- Determine the possible cause from "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)" Refer to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
- Inspect the DTC using "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)".
- Repair the trouble cause.
- Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Refer to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY MODE .
- Perform the Inspection Mode. Refer to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>INSPECTION MODE .
- Read any other DTCs displayed.
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes: Perform the procedure 1 to 5 in step 3.
No: Finish the diagnosis.
