Front Strut: Disassembly

CAUTION:

When installing the coil spring compressor to the coil spring, follow the operation manual accompanied with the coil spring compressor during operation.
Do not use an impact wrench to compress the coil spring.
The bearing may be damaged if the spring is pressed while the spring top strongly interferes with the bearing. Be careful with the following items.
- Evenly compress the spring.
- Be careful so that the bearing side gap (a) is not opened wider than 5 mm (0.2 in) during operation.

Using a coil spring compressor, compress the coil spring.
Preparation tool:

Coil spring compressor
Remove the dust seal.

Using a hexagon wrench to prevent strut rod from turning, remove the self-locking nut with ST.

ST: STRUT MOUNT SOCKET (20399AG000)

The installing position of coil spring compressor varies depending on the coil spring shape and winding number.

Remove the mount strut front, the mount bearing front and the dust cover front from the strut COMPL front.
Gradually decrease the compression force of compressor, and remove the coil spring.
Remove the helper front.
Remove the rubber seat LWR.
