Auto Headlight Beam Leveler System: Procedure: Notes
CAUTION:
If any of the following conditions is met, the headlight beam may deviate. Perform re-initialization or fuse resetting before adjusting the beam level using the aiming screw.
- Difference has occurred to the angle of road surface between when the ignition switch is turned to OFF and when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
- Difference has occurred to the angle of road surface when the ignition switch is ON and the vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 MPH).
NOTE:
If the indicator does not flash 3 times or the headlight beam does not operate even if initialization or re-initialization is performed, it can be assumed that there is an open circuit or faulty wiring in the harness of the auto headlight beam leveler control module, or headlight assembly. Perform inspection and repairs according to the inspection results. Ref. to LIGHTING SYSTEM>AUTO HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVELER SYSTEM>INSPECTION .
Before performing initialization or re-initialization, check the following:
- The vehicle is parked on a level surface.
- The inflation pressure of tires is correct.
- The vehicle does not have load.
- Vehicle's fuel tank is fully filled.
Perform each work in the following cases.
| Operation | Condition | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Initialization | When the auto headlight beam leveler control module was replaced with a new module. | Ref. to LIGHTING SYSTEM>AUTO HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVELER SYSTEM>PROCEDURE > INITIALIZATION . |
