Battery Cable Assembly: Removal

  1. Remove the cover fender UPR LH.

  2. Remove the fuse box cover (A) and terminal boot (B).

  3. Remove the battery cable assembly.
    1. Disconnect the ground terminal (A).
    2. Remove the clip (B).
    3. Disconnect the ground terminal (C).
    4. Remove the battery cable holder (D).
    5. Remove the battery sensor harness from the clip (E).

    6. Disconnect the terminal (A) and the terminal (B).
    7. Disconnect the terminal (C).

    8. Disconnect the slow blow fuse.

    9. Remove the terminal of battery cable assembly.

    10. Remove the air intake boot.
      1. Remove the clip.
      2. Loosen the clamp.

      3. Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
        CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.

    11. Disconnect the connector (A).
    12. Disconnect the terminal B (B).
    13. Disconnect the ground terminal (C).
      CAUTION: In order to prevent damaging the ground terminal, fix the ground terminal when loosing the bolt, and avoid the part from rotating together while loosening the bolt.

    14. Remove the V-belt covers.

    15. Disconnect the terminal B (A).
    16. Remove the connector (B) and connector (C).
    17. Remove the clip (D) and clip (E) that secure the battery cable assembly.

    18. Disconnect the connector (A).
    19. Remove the clip (B) securing the engine wiring harness.
    20. Remove the clip (C) securing the battery cable assembly to the intake manifold assembly.
    21. Release the claw (D) securing the battery cable assembly to the intake manifold assembly.

    22. Disengage the claw securing the battery cable assembly to the bracket, and remove the battery cable assembly.

  4. Remove the slow blow fuse.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.
    1. Disconnect the terminal (A).
    2. Disconnect the terminal (B), and remove the slow blow fuse (C).

  5. Remove the terminal base.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.
