Battery Cable Assembly: Installation

  1. Set the battery cable assembly, and secure the battery cable assembly to the bracket with claw.

  2. Secure the battery cable assembly with the claw (E) and clip (D).
  3. Connect the connector (C).
  4. Connect the ground terminal (B) to the cable stay.
    CAUTION: As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.

    Tightening torque: 

    14 N.m (1.4 kgf-m, 10.3 ft-lb)

  5. Connect the terminal (A) to the starter.
    CAUTION: As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.

    Tightening torque: 

    11 N.m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.1 ft-lb)

  6. After connecting the terminal B, apply a thin coat of anti-rust grease to the terminal section.
    CAUTION: This procedure is required to prevent rust and suppress sulfation.

    Preparation items: 

    Grease: Viscotech R174 or equivalent Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS>GREASE>STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEM

  7. After connecting the ground terminal, apply a thin coat of anti-rust grease to the terminal section.
    CAUTION: This procedure is required to prevent rust and suppress sulfation.

    Preparation items: 

    Grease: Viscotech R174 or equivalent Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS>GREASE>STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEM

  8. Secure the battery cable assembly with the clip (A) and clip (B).
  9. Connect the connector (C), connector (D), connector (E), and the terminal (F).
    CAUTION: As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.

    Tightening torque: 

    15.5 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.4 ft-lb)

  10. Install the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTERCOOLER>INSTALLATION .

  11. After connecting the terminal B, apply a thin coat of anti-rust grease to the terminal section.
    CAUTION: This procedure is required to prevent rust and suppress sulfation.

    Preparation items: 

    Grease: Viscotech R174 or equivalent Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS>GREASE>STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEM

  12. Install the V-belt cover.
    NOTE:
    • Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.
    • Be careful not to deform the bracket during installation.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  13. Connect the terminals (A), (B), and (C) to the slow blow fuse (D).

    Tightening torque: 

    5.5 N.m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.1 ft-lb)

  14. Set the terminal of battery cable assembly to the terminal base.

  15. Connect the slow blow fuse to the terminal base.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  16. Connect the terminal (C), terminal (B) and terminal (A).
    CAUTION: As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.

    Tightening torque: 

    T1: 7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

    T2: 14 N.m (1.4 kgf-m, 10.3 ft-lb)

  17. After connecting each terminal, apply a thin coat of anti-rust grease to the terminal section.
    CAUTION: This procedure is required to prevent rust and suppress sulfation.

    Preparation items: 

    Grease: Viscotech R174 or equivalent Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS>GREASE>STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEM

  18. Install the battery cable assembly to the clip (E).
  19. Install the battery cable holder (D), and connect the ground terminal (C).
    CAUTION:
    • Install the battery sensor and battery cable assembly without applying an excessive force.
    • As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.
    • Do not apply anti-rust grease to the battery sensor and the ground terminal.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  20. Install the ground cable to the clip (B), and connect the ground terminal (A).
    CAUTION: As residual anti-rust grease or dirt on the threads (bolts and nuts), terminals and seating surfaces may cause overtorque, clean and degrease them.

    Tightening torque: 

    13 N.m (1.3 kgf-m, 9.6 ft-lb)

  21. After connecting the ground terminal, apply a thin coat of anti-rust grease to the terminal section.
    CAUTION: This procedure is required to prevent rust and suppress sulfation.

    Preparation items:
