Ignition Coil Resistance

  1. Remove negative battery cable. Disconnect secondary lead from coil. Remove primary leads from ignition coil. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between primary terminals of coil.
  2. Check secondary resistance between coil secondary terminal and primary positive terminal. Replace coil if readings are not within specifications. See the IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table.
