Alternator & Regulator: Overhaul: Inspection
- Check brushes for cracks. Using a micrometer, measure brush length. Standard measurement is .43" (11.0 mm). Minimum length is .20" (5.0 mm). Check that brushes slide smoothly in holders.
- If damaged or worn, replace brushes and brush holder. Install new springs when replacing brushes.
