Engine Start Signal
This signal is sent from starter circuit to ECM terminal B11 on Samurai and Sidekick TBI. On Sidekick MPI, signal is sent to ECM terminal A2. On Swift DOHC, signal is sent to ECM terminal C1. On Swift SOHC, signal is sent to ECM terminal A10. On Samurai and Sidekick TBI, ECM uses signal to determine whether engine is cranking, to control fuel injection timing, injection time, Idle Air Control (IAC) valve operation, throttle opener vacuum switching valve operation and mixture heater operation (Sidekick A/T). On Swift DOHC, ECM uses this signal to determine whether engine is cranking and to control ignition timing. On Sidekick MPI and Swift SOHC, ECM uses this signal to determine whether engine is cranking and to control fuel injector(s) and fuel pump relay.
