Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Check

  1. Turn ignition off. Raise and support rear of vehicle. With CC ECU connector disconnected, check continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 10 (3-speed A/T and M/T) or terminal No. 11 (4-speed A/T) while slowly turning left rear wheel with (right wheel locked). SeeFigure or Figure .
  2. Ohmmeter should fluctuate between zero ohms and infinity 2-3 times per tire revolution. If readings are not as specified, check wires and connectors of related circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. Repair faulty wires or connectors as necessary. If wires and connectors are okay, check speed sensor (reed switch) function. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (REED SWITCH) TEST  under COMPONENT TESTING.
