Shift Switch Circuit Check (A/T)

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector at CC ECU. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 12 (3-speed A/T and M/T) or terminal No. 14 (4-speed A/T) with shift lever in Park or Neutral. See Figure or Figure . Continuity should exist.
  2. If no continuity exists, check wiring and electrical connectors for related wiring circuit. See appropriate wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair wiring or electrical connectors as necessary.
  3. If wiring and electrical connectors are okay, check shift switch. See SHIFT SWITCH (A/T)  under COMPONENT TESTING.
