BRAKELIGHT Switch

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at brakelight switch, located near top of brake pedal. SeeFigure . Remove brakelight switch from mounting bracket. Note terminals on brakelight switch. SeeFig 1 .
  2. Connect ohmmeter between terminals No. 1 and 2 on brakelight switch. Continuity should exist with plunger on brake switch fully outward and no continuity should exist with plunger fully depressed.
  3. Remove ohmmeter. Connect ohmmeter between terminals No. 3 and 4 on brakelight switch. No continuity should exist with plunger on brake switch fully outward and continuity should exist with plunger fully depressed. Replace brakelight switch if defective.
  4. Reinstall brakelight switch. Adjust brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH  under ADJUSTMENTS.
