Injector (TBI): Installation

  1. Apply thin coat of fuel to NEW upper and lower fuel injector "O" rings. Install "O" rings on fuel injector. Install injector by pushing straight into fuel injector cavity. DO NOT  turn injector while pushing. Install NEW upper insulator and injector cover.
  2. Tighten injector cover retaining screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect negative battery cable. Check for fuel leaks. With engine off, turn ignition to ON position for 2-3 seconds to activate fuel pump. Check for fuel leaks around throttle body. Repair fuel leaks if necessary.
