Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

Sensor is magnetic type located inside distributor. As distributor shaft turns, signal rotor interrupts magnetic field, generating a high/low AC signal (5 per revolution). PCM uses this signal to calculate engine speed, determine position of each piston and control various devices.
