Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Suzuki X-90 and 1996 Suzuki Sidekick. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector at CC ECU.
  2. On Sidekick and X90, using ohmmeter, check continuity between CC ECU terminal No. 11 (Yellow wire) between CC ECU and terminal on instrument cluster. See appropriate wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Continuity should exist. If no continuity exists, check wiring and electrical connectors for related wiring circuit. Repair wiring or electrical connectors as necessary.
  4. If continuity exists, check vehicle speed sensor. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR  under COMPONENT TESTING.
