Main Switch Indicator Light Circuit Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CC ECU harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn cruise control main switch to ON position. If cruise control main switch indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step. If cruise control main switch indicator light illuminates, check Yellow wire (Esteem) or Light Green/White wire (all others), for short to ground between CC ECU and cruise control main switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between ground and CC ECU harness connector terminal No. 10 (Yellow wire on Esteem; Light Green/White wire on all others). Turn ignition switch to ON position. If cruise control main switch indicator light illuminates, circuit is okay. If cruise control main switch indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove cruise control main switch from instrument panel. Check condition of cruise control main switch indicator bulb. Replace bulb as necessary. If bulb is okay, check for open in Black/White wire, or an open in Yellow wire (Esteem) or Light Green/White wire (all others). Repair wiring as necessary.
