Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS, Speedometer Driven Gear)

Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.





2. Disconnect VSS (1) coupler.





3. Remove VSS (1).

Installation





1. Check O-ring (2) and VSS (1) surface for their flawlessness, apply oil to O-ring and driven gear (3) and then install VSS to transmission.
Tightening torque
VSS mounting bolt (a): 5.5 Nm (0.55 kgf-m, 4.0 ft. lbs.)





2. Connect VSS (1) coupler.
3. Connect negative cable at battery.
