Air Bag System: Diagnostics: Notes

A scan tool is used to retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM). DTCs are also cleared using scan tool. DTC B1620, B1650 and B1670 cannot be cleared. DTC B2500 cannot be cleared for one ignition cycle once DTC has been detected by the SDM. To use the scan tool, ensure ignition is OFF. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector, located under driver-side instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Follow instructions in scan tool manual for retrieving DTCs.
